Jimmy has more than 29 years of public accounting experience after working for several years in private industry. Currently he serves the firm as the Office Managing Partner of the Newport News office, as well as the Regional Managing Partner for the Hampton Roads offices. He provides a variety of accounting and tax services to small and medium size businesses and their owners including real estate developers, the construction industry, manufacturers, state and local governments, the shipping and freight forwarding industries, quasi governmental entities, not-for-profit organizations and automobile dealers. Additionally, he has provided consultation to school districts on a number of financial issues. Jimmy is also responsible for performing compliance work and providing financial statements in accordance with reporting requirements established by OMB A-133 as well as other outside agencies.
Jimmy is a firm resource serving as a quality control reviewer for government standards engagements. He is well versed on GASB standards and dealing with changes in the financial reporting model for state and local government entities.

Professional/Civic Organizations Jimmy is an active member in the Virginia Society of CPA’S having previously served on the Society’s Board of Directors and the Professional Ethics Committee. He has been affiliated with the Metropolitan YMCA serving in a number of different capacities for more than 20 years. He served on the City of Hampton School Board from 1991-2000 and served as Board Chairman from 1995 –2000. Additionally, he was the Chairman of the Tidewater Region of the Virginia School Board’s Association and on the Association’s state board. Jimmy also served two terms on the Board of the Small Business Development Center and as the Board’s Chairman.
He serves as President of Christopher Newport’s Education Foundation, the University’s Real Estate Foundation and the University’s Business Advisory Board.
Jimmy is also a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants. He has served on the board of a number of community banks and non-profit organizations. He is a graduate of the 1991 Peninsula Chamber of Commerce’s Leadership Institute and is an active member of Bruton Parish Episcopal Church in Williamsburg, Virginia.

Honors And Awards In 2001, Jimmy was named Christopher Newport University’s Distinguished Alumni of the Year and in the spring of 2002 was selected by the University’s Accounting Department as the 2002 Distinguished Accounting Chair. This is only the sixth time in the history of the school that the award has been given.
