Dixon Hughes and FMI Announce 2010 Construction Executive Conference

Raleigh, NC, August 16, 2010 – The accounting and advisory firm of Dixon Hughes PLLC and FMI Corporation, the premier provider of management consulting and investment banking to the engineering and construction industry, are joining to present the 2010 Construction Executive Conference. Speakers and industry thought leaders will offer insight into today's construction marketplace and current environment. Each of these events will provide opportunities for discussion on leadership trends in construction strategy, planning and execution for 2010 and beyond.

The Construction Executive Conference is an invitation-only event geared toward industry executives and will take place at two locations – the first one on Wednesday, October 6 at The Ritz Carlton in Atlanta, GA, and the second one on Thursday, October 14 at The Grandover Resort in Greensboro, NC. The conferences will be held for one full day, each with featured speakers.

“For over a decade Dixon Hughes has held the CEC event but this year the conference includes FMI Corporation, adding greater depth of industry knowledge to the program,” according to Lance Windley, Member-in-Charge of Dixon Hughes’ Construction Services Group and Emcee for the event. “We are proud and excited to have FMI join us as a conference partner this year.”

The Keynote speaker for this year’s event is Ken Simonson, Chief Economist of the Associated General Contractors of America. In addition, the program will also feature Mike Trammell, Member-in-Charge of Dixon Hughes’ Construction Services Group, and Landon Funsten, Principal with FMI.

“The combined knowledge and experience FMI and Dixon Hughes offer provide the 2010 Construction Executive Conference attendees tools to make the most effective decisions for their business in today’s market,” said Funsten. “They will leave with a better understanding of the trends and challenges in their industry and how to use that information to benefit their firms.”

The events, which begin at 8:30 a.m., will offer executive-level briefings on issues facing the industry and the construction market. Conference participants will receive an industry insider's view of today’s most important topics. An evening networking reception will follow the conference.
