Leadership Assessment
Dixon Hughes Goodman offers certified Leadership Assessment facilitation and coaching. A leadership assessment is intended for an individual's professional development including strengths, areas of improvement, potential career "derailers" and insight to the disparity between self and rater perceptions of leadership competencies.
Commonly referred to as a "360 Assessment", the benefit of collecting data of this kind is that the person sees a panorama of perceptions rather than just self-perception or the boss' feedback, which affords a more complete picture.
- Opinions of a manager's performance are collected from direct reports, peers, managers, manager peers and even outside sources such as customers or vendors.
- Questions are developed to assess specific leadership competencies by scientific research and testing.
- When combined with coaching, leaders are able to focus on improving leadership competencies to advance careers, reduce challenges and become more effective.
- This tool is effective with all levels of management and even some individual contributor roles. There are several types of 360 Assessments, each appropriate for a different purpose:
- Prospector
- Benchmark
- Executive
- 360 by Design (customized survey)
- Participants learn to focus on skills and perspectives critical to being effective and successful and are able to measure improvement over time with follow-on assessments.
- The assessment allows participants to design a plan that links needs to specific developmental experiences.
- When completed through Center for Creative Leadership, the assessment provides normative comparison of results with other successful managers in similar businesses or internally to the participant's company.
- The feedback report includes ratings for both importance and competence.
- CCL assessments may only be completed by certified facilitators to ensure results are properly communicated and participants maximize development from the results.
- Members of our consulting team are certified by the Center for Creative Leadership, the originator of the 360 Assessment, in all CCL assessment tools.
